This continuing education course is designed for pharmacists to address time management barriers when precepting learners. This course identifies and categorizes time management barriers and provides strategies to address each area. The layered learning model will also be discussed as an example to effectively manage time when precepting multiple learners.

Upon successful completion of this knowledge-based course, preceptors should be able to:
1. Review preceptor responsibilities and roles in learner education.
2. Categorize time management barriers to precepting pharmacy learners.
3. Identify strategies to reduce time management barriers with pharmacy learners.
4. Describe the layered learning model to precept multiple pharmacy learners.
5. Discuss independent learning activities for pharmacy learners to contribute to practice site improvements.
