The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) has met and provided their recommendations for the 2021-22 influenza season, among other important immunization guidance. Don’t miss this update for critical guidance as we head into a busy immunization season.

Upon successful completion of this knowledge-based CPE course, pharmacy technicians should be able to:
1. Discuss the 2021 Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) recommendations regarding adult and pediatric immunizations
2. Examine the safety and efficacy of influenza vaccines approved for older adults
3. Review influenza vaccine considerations such as nomenclature, characteristics, schedule, contraindications, and precautions in preparation for the upcoming influenza season
4. Review a patient’s immunization history to determine appropriate vaccine recommendations based on the appropriate immunization schedule
