Oncology is a complex condition that can significantly affect patient outcomes, quality of life, and long-term health if not managed appropriately. This course discusses the clinical presentation and evidence-based pharmacologic management of oncology, with an emphasis on therapeutic goals, medication selection, safety considerations, and monitoring strategies. You will gain practical tools to optimize medication use, support adherence, and provide patient-centered counseling to improve outcomes in individuals living with oncology.

Learning Objectives

Upon successful completion of this application-based CPE course, pharmacists should be able to:
1. Describe the clinical manifestations and overall disease burden associated with oncology.
2. Summarize evidence-based pharmacologic treatment options for oncology, including place in therapy and therapeutic goals.
3. Design a patient-specific medication management plan for an oncology patient that ensures appropriate therapy selection, safe administration, adherence support, monitoring, and patient counseling.
