Multiple sclerosis is a complex condition that can significantly affect patient outcomes, quality of life, and long-term health if not managed appropriately. This course discusses the clinical presentation and evidence-based pharmacologic management of multiple sclerosis, with emphasis on therapeutic goals, medication selection, safety considerations, and monitoring strategies. You will gain practical tools to optimize medication use, support adherence, and provide patient-centered counseling to improve outcomes in individuals living with multiple sclerosis.

Learning Objectives

Upon successful completion of this application-based CPE course, pharmacists should be able to:
1. Describe the clinical manifestations and overall disease burden associated with multiple sclerosis.
2. Summarize evidence-based pharmacologic treatment options for multiple sclerosis, including place in therapy and therapeutic goals.
3. Design a patient-specific medication management plan for a patient with multiple sclerosis that ensures appropriate therapy selection, safe administration, adherence support, monitoring, and patient counseling.
