Pharmacist Preceptor On-Demand 1h

Pharmacists are increasingly engaging in diagnostic reasoning and prescribing, expanding their impact on patient care across diverse practice settings. This course equips preceptors with strategies to integrate these skills into experiential learning, including understanding key terms, navigating regulatory models, and applying tools like the One-Minute Preceptor and shared decision making. Preceptors will leave prepared to create purposeful learning opportunities that enhance the competence and confidence of students and residents in diagnostic reasoning and prescribing.

Learning Objectives

Upon successful completion of this application-based CPE course, pharmacy preceptors should be able to:
1. Describe key terms related to diagnostic reasoning and prescribing within the context of pharmacy practice and experiential education.
2. Explain how diagnostic reasoning and prescribing are performed by pharmacists across diverse practice settings and within independent and collaborative practice regulatory environments.
3. Create a plan to integrate diagnostic reasoning and prescribing into experiential learning.
