The Impact of Bias on Health Outcomes

Bias in healthcare and the lack of health equity have gained much-needed attention throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. This course discusses how bias in pharmacy education could affect patient care, and what you can do to impact health equity in your pharmacy practice.

Upon successful completion of this application-based course, participants should be able to:
1. Compare and contrast implicit and explicit bias
2. Discuss the impact of bias on health outcomes and clinical care
3. Interpret the results of a study on affects of bias on clinical behaviors of pharmacy students
4. Develop conclusions from a study on bias and clinical behaviors of pharmacy students
5. Create a strategy to address inequalities by increasing awareness of personal bias
