Upon successful completion of this knowledge-based course, preceptors should be able to:
1. Define and distinguish the key elements of teaching the science of safety
2. Highlight places in the curriculum where patient safety is taught to student pharmacists
3. Evaluate cases of medication error and identify “teachable moments” for student pharmacists
4. Identify patient safety resources for student pharmacists at a practice site
5. Recognize opportunities to utilize student pharmacists for patient safety initiatives
