Pharmacy professionals have specific knowledge related to their area of expertise and are aware of compliance standards set by pharmacy boards, however, it is important for this professional to also have an understanding of general workplace safety and the standards set by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. This course will provide a review of the OSHA general duty clause and related applicable standards for pharmacy professionals’ workplace safety. 

Learning Objectives

Upon successful completion of this course, learners should be able to:
1. Describe the history of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
2. Define the OSHA General Duty Clause.
3. Identify the Standards and Rules for general workplace safety.
4. Recognize deficiencies or hazards in the workplace and implement corrective actions that will ensure compliance to OSHA standards.
