Make the Right Decision: Pharmacy Ethics (Technician)

Make the Right Decision: Pharmacy Ethics (Technician)

Have you ever been in a practice situation where you aren’t sure what to do to help the patient? Deciding what action is “right” can be challenging. This course provides guidance on ethical principles, so you can make ethical decisions on what to do when the “right” choice is not immediately clear.

Upon successful completion of this knowledge-based CPE course, pharmacy technicians should be able to:
1. State the main principles of ethics that guide pharmacists and pharmacy technicians as they determine the actions they should take for the benefit of patients and for the public.
2. Analyze the provisions of the American Pharmacists Association Code of Ethics and the application of those provisions to common ethical dilemmas in pharmacy practice.
3. Formulate an approach to compliance with ethical standards of the pharmacy profession based on generally accepted ethical principles as incorporated into the APhA Code of Ethics.
