Gender Affirming Care for Transgender and Gender Non-Conforming Patients
Pharmacy teams must be ready to educate and care for transgender and gender non-conforming patients as they seek hormone affirmation. Take this course to better understand medications that assist gender affirming hormone therapy and the role the pharmacy team plays on our patients’ healthcare teams.

1. Define terminology associated with the care of transgender and gender non-conforming (TGNC) patients
2. Discuss the differences between medical, social, and legal gender affirmation
3. Review common pharmaceuticals utilized in hormone therapy and the physiological effects associated with each treatment
4. Articulate the importance of interprofessional collaborative practice when treating TGNC patients and the roles of various professions as part of the healthcare team, including athletic trainers
5. Counsel and care for TGNC patients with a patient-centric approach
6. Use national resources and referral networks available to improve patient care for TGNC patients
