Preceptors are considered an extension of the educational team at their affiliate institutions and are bound by FERPA, the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, which protects student privacy as it relates to their educational records. As educators, preceptors play a critical role in ensuring students’ privacy. Take this course and know your responsibilities.
Upon successful completion of this application-based course, pharmacy preceptors should be able to:
1. Describe the basic elements of FERPA and its relevance for pharmacy preceptors
2. Apply FERPA principles to real-life scenarios
