Employment Rights of Pharmacy Technicians

Employment Rights of Pharmacy Technicians

Employees have rights regarding discrimination and retaliation in the workplace. This course discusses those rights through a review of a pharmacy technician’s legal claim for whistleblower protection based on the discovery and reporting of their employer’s regulatory violation.

Upon successful completion of this knowledge-based CPE course, pharmacists should be able to:
1. Explain the process through which an employee’s claim of discrimination/retaliation will be evaluated in a legal proceeding.
2. Discuss the rights of employees to be free from race discrimination in the pharmacy workplace.
3. Evaluate a claim that a pharmacy technician has made for whistleblower protection based on the discovery and reporting of a regulatory violation by the technician’s employer.
