Collaborative Strategies to Enhance Pharmacy Services

This course promotes the importance of collaboration to identify and address community needs. Through the implementation of new or revised services, pharmacy teams have a unique opportunity to impact patient outcomes. Learners will explore strategies to recognize viable services, overcome barriers encountered during the implementation process of services, and develop effective evaluation processes to ensure the success and sustainability of innovative services. Additionally, course attendees will be challenged to create a list of potential collaborative partners and impactful services to enhance their pharmacy practice.

Upon successful completion of this application-based CPE course, pharmacy technicians should be able to:
1. Determine how to identify the pharmacy-related needs of a community.
2. Describe how most innovative pharmacy services require interprofessional and intracommunity collaboration for successful implementation.
3. Discuss possible solutions for barriers encountered when implementing innovation into pharmacy practice.
4. Develop processes to evaluate the viability of pharmacy services or enhancements to ensure success and sustainability.
5. Create a prioritized list of potential, impactful collaborative partners and innovative services for implementation to your pharmacy practice.
