Pharmacist Compliance On-Demand 1 credit hour

Understanding the intersections of culture, class, and race is essential to advancing equity and inclusion within healthcare and pharmacy practice. This course examines systemic racism and its impact on Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities, with particular emphasis on healthcare disparities and barriers to access. You will gain the knowledge, skills, and perspective to recognize inequities, reflect on personal and professional biases, and use your role in pharmacy to promote meaningful and sustainable change.

Learning Objectives

Upon successful completion of this course, learners should be able to:
1. Explain the historical concept of race and its impact on the health and well-being of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities.
2. Recognize respect as a fundamental human right and identify behaviors that foster an inclusive environment.
3. Define accountability as it relates to professional growth and continuous development.
4. Practice communication strategies to engage in courageous conversations that promote inclusion.
5. Incorporate equitable practices within pharmacy settings to help reduce health disparities and advance inclusion among marginalized communities.
