This course applies the new AGA guidelines to four patient cases. Learn to manage IBS-C and IBS-D with medications, lifestyle changes, and natural therapies, as well as how to manage it when there are concomitant mental health concerns.

Learning Objectives

Upon successful completion of this application-based CPE course, pharmacists should be able to:
1. Apply the American Gastroenterological Association’s (AGA) clinical updates for management of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and chronic gastrointestinal pain in disorders of gut-brain interaction.
2. Collaborate with patients and providers to develop realistic goals of therapy for patients with IBS.
3. Develop a care plan for IBS based on patient-specific factors, including mental health disorders.
