Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis are complex conditions that can significantly affect patient outcomes, quality of life, and long-term health if not managed appropriately. This course discusses the pathophysiology, clinical presentation, and evidence-based pharmacologic management of psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis, with emphasis on therapeutic goals, medication selection, safety considerations, and monitoring strategies. You will gain practical tools to optimize medication use, support adherence, and provide patient-centered counseling to improve outcomes in individuals living with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis.

Learning Objectives

Upon successful completion of this application-based CPE course, pharmacists should be able to:
1. Describe the pathophysiology, clinical manifestations, and overall disease burden associated with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis.
2. Summarize evidence-based pharmacologic treatment options for psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis, including mechanisms of action, place in therapy, and therapeutic goals.
3. Design a patient-specific medication management plan for a patient with psoriasis or psoriatic arthritis that ensures appropriate therapy selection, safe administration, adherence support, monitoring, and patient counseling.
