Pharmacist Compliance | Ethics Written 1h

The pharmacy profession’s code of ethics guides our actions as pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to benefit patients and public health. This course reviews the code of ethics, applies it to common ethical dilemmas we face in practice, and provides an approach to compliance based on ethical principles.

Learning Objectives

Upon successful completion of this course, learners should be able to:
1. State the main principles of ethics that guide pharmacists and pharmacy technicians as they determine the actions they should take for the benefit of patients and for the public.
2. Analyze the provisions of the American Pharmacists Association Code of Ethics and the application of those provisions to common ethical dilemmas in pharmacy practice.
3. Formulate an approach to compliance with ethical standards of the pharmacy profession based on generally accepted ethical principles as incorporated into the APhA Code of Ethics.
