The work of Community Health Workers (CHW) and advanced pharmacy technicians in community pharmacies go hand-in-hand. This course discusses the benefits of CHWs collaborating with pharmacies to provide services that improve the health of all patients.
Upon successful completion of this knowledge-based CPE course, pharmacy technicians should be able to:
1. Describe healthcare services offered in community pharmacies.
2. Discuss the role of advanced pharmacy technicians in the provision of pharmacy services such as medication reconciliation, telepharmacy, community health worker, and technician product verification.
3. Describe the benefits to patients when advanced pharmacy technicians serve as or collaborate with community health workers.
4. Identify opportunities for community health workers to collaborate with community pharmacies for the benefit of patients.
