In 1975, something remarkable happened in pharmacy. For the first time, pharmacists were required to complete continuing education (CE) to maintain their license. The Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) recognized the need for ongoing, evidence-based learning to ensure pharmacists could keep up with advances in medicine and continue delivering safe, effective care to patients.
That year, ACPE began accrediting providers of high-quality continuing pharmacy education. CEimpact – then the Iowa Pharmacy Association – was among the first organizations to earn accreditation.
