Implementation of Pharmacogenomics
Considering implementing pharmacogenomics services into your practice? This course provides an overview of essential PGx terminology, the clinical utility of PGX, and guidance for developing a detailed testing process. In addition, learners will review and navigate key PGx sources to assist in assessing pharmacogenomic information and integrating it into clinical practice.
Upon successful completion of this knowledge-based course, pharmacists should be able to:
1. Define terminology used in pharmacogenomics (PGx)
2. Provide a review of the clinical relevance of PGx
3. Describe the PGx testing process
4. Identify various pharmacogenomics resources (e.g. FDA, CPIC, PharmGKB, PharmVar, AMP/CAP)
5. List the key components and steps required for the successful implementation of pharmacogenomics in clinical practice
